Picture This: A thought-leadership event that didn’t suck.

During my role as Head of Creative at Stratos, I got the rather tasty brief of dreaming up the identity for our thought-leadership event (don’t worry, it’s cooler than it sounds). The goal? Create something that brought together clever humans in Milton Keynes, gave them a platform to swap ideas, and ideally didn’t feel like another beige business breakfast.

Enter: Picture This – a name I coined because, well, I liked the idea of people literally framing new ideas. The brand was built to flex, shift, and generally not sit still – because each event topic was chosen by the public. Using framing devices, playful illustration, and modular layouts, I could rejig the look and feel depending on what we were chatting about that month. I handled everything from social content to the website to animation – the brand needed to move as much as it needed to exist on a poster. Turns out, people really liked it. Picture This grew from a one-off event to many more, every year.

I’m genuinely proud of this one. It made the ever-evolving city of Milton Keynes feel a bit more connected, inclusive, and – dare I say it – fun.

Project type: Brand creation

Industry: Communications

Services: Branding / Social media / Web design / Animation

Each event brought together speakers with one brief: offer insight, not a sales pitch. The aim was to keep things open — a genuine knowledge share, not a marketing funnel. No paywalls, no fluff. Just ideas people could actually use.

From here, Picture This keeps evolving. The core idea—looking at a subject through a lens, stays constant, but the styling shifts with each topic. That flexibility keeps it fresh, relevant, and built to last.
